What is Strategic Planning?

• Strategic Planning is a process to find out where an organisation is going and what it needs to do to get there.
• A strategy is a long term Plan of Action designed to achieve a particular Goal or Vision.
• Ideally it will involve as many people in the organisation as possible.

It must be: Easy to UNDERSTAND, INCLUSIVE and INSPIRING.

It requires:

• A clear Vision (where we are going)
• Objectives which will lead us to the vision
• Challenges to the vision which will need to be overcome by Success Factors
• Specific allocated Actions (what we will do)
• Appropriate Resources to carry out the Strategy
